Devotion 1
Where Are Your Looking?
Hebrews 12:2 reminds us to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. In a world full of distractions, let’s refocus on what truly matters—our personal relationship with God and the direction He has for us as individuals and couples. Take a moment this weekend to draw near to God, and allow His love to deepen your bond with your spouse.
Discussion Questions
- What distractions currently pull your focus away from your relationship with God and your spouse?
- How can we better prioritize looking to Jesus in our daily lives, especially amid the busyness?
- In what ways can we intentionally pursue the spiritual direction we feel God has set for our lives and marriage?
Devotion 2
What Are You Learning?
In 1 Peter 3:7, we’re reminded to deepen our understanding of our spouses and nurture our relationship with God. As we consider how we can better support and honor each other, let’s also grow spiritually, avoiding “maintenance mode” in both our marriage and faith. Take this time to share with your spouse what you’re learning about your relationship with them and with God.
Discussion Questions
- What have you recently learned about your spouse that has helped deepen your relationship?
- Are there areas where we may have entered “maintenance mode” in our marriage or spiritual lives? How can we refresh these areas?
- How can we incorporate regular conversations about spiritual growth into our marriage?
Devotion 3
Who Are You Leading?
Acts 18:26 recounts how Aquila and Priscilla invested in others, embodying a Christian marriage with a purpose beyond themselves. As couples, God calls us not only to grow together but to extend His love outward—toward family, neighbors, and all those He places in our path. Let this be a reminder to serve and lead with the strength God provides through our marriages.
Discussion Questions
- Who has God placed in our lives for us to guide or influence as a couple?
- How can we ensure our marriage isn’t just inwardly focused but also impacts others for God’s Kingdom?
- In what ways can we intentionally align our goals as a couple to serve and lead together?
